Ensure proper watering, fertilization, pruning, spacing, and overall plant health. Monitor for pests/disease and implement treatment programs as required. Maintain efficient, organized, and safe work areas in an outdoor plant nursery environment. Team Leadership Schedule, train, and supervise nursery staff. Set clear expectations and hold your team members accountable. Support a positive, productive, team-centered work environment. Plant and Tree Maintenance Oversee all care and maintenance of plant and tree materials in the nursery yard. Help maintain proper tagging, labeling, and organization of inventory for orders. Coordinate with purchasing, operations and sales teams on stock levels, shortages, surpluses and movement. Maintenance & Improvements Ensure nursery equipment, irrigation systems, and infrastructure are well-maintained and safely utilized by staff. Lead seasonal and structural improvements to nursery grounds. Identify opportunities to streamline workflow and drive continual improvement. Administrative & Compliance Maintain daily records as required. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and state/federal regulations. Expected Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agriculture, business, or management preferred (not required). Minimum 4 years of experience in a supervisory, management or leadership role. Prior nursery, greenhouse, or horticulture experience required.
Physical Requirements:
This position may include long hours spent standing, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, reaching, and stretching. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to fifty (50) pounds. The position may also require climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and elbows may be required in this position to operate small, motorized equipment.
Working Conditions:
This position is performed both outside and in an office setting that may expose employee to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet to loud. This position may require a flexible schedule and periodic overtime, as needed.
Schedule & Compensation:
Full-time, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime or flexible hours based on operational needs
Salary Range:
