Position Summary Reporting to the VP Farmer Stock Procurement, the Buying Point Manager will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of Doster Peanut, which is one of the largest peanut buying points in the state of Georgia and a critical part of the supply chain for Olam Peanut Shelling. The ideal candidate for this position will have knowledge of and experience in modern agriculture and farming practices, a high level of integrity and ability to maintain and grow critical relationships with customers (growers), and the ability to be physically involved in the business and related tasks on a daily basis. Position Responsibilities Own and manage the relationship with existing customers (growers). Maintain existing business and annual volume base. Acquire additional volume and establish long-term relationships with new customers (growers). Negotiate farmer stock contracts with growers, within parameters established by ofi Peanut Shelling management. Provide customer service to grower base throughout the year, but especially during harvest. Organize and coordinate deliveries of farmer stock to buying point for proper handling and storage. Monitor FSIS grading process during harvest to ensure accurate grading of farmer stock. Focus on preserving the value of the farmer stock purchased, minimizing shrink and maintaining quality. Focus on continuous improvement and best practices in farmer stock drying, cleaning, handling, storing, etc. Properly manage bailouts to ensure the quality of the farmer stock is maintained and that shrink is minimized. Market & sell peanut seed. Manage and coordinate the upkeep and maintenance of the facility and associated equipment. Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring and guidance to buying point staff, focusing on talent acquisition, retention, development, and overall performance management Assist in company crop reporting. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements High school diploma is required. Bachelors degree in Agriculture, Business, or related field preferred. Ten (10) years of work experience in an agricultural related business. Experience and/or knowledge in the area of peanut production and peanut growers preferred. Ability to work extended hours as needed, particularly during peanut harvest season is required. Strong understanding and focus on workplace safety is required. Basic mechanical and electrical skillset is preferred. Strong communication, decision making and analytical skills are required. Ability to lead, direct and motivate employees is required. Proficient skills with Microsoft Office products, including but not limited to Word, Outlook and Excel is required. This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts. Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air.
