Ellsworth Turkey is a leading provider of high-quality, farm raised turkeys for the local and national markets. We are committed to providing our customers with the freshest and healthiest turkeys on the market. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Turkey Farm Manager to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Turkey Farm Manager will be responsible for the overall management and operation of our turkey farms.
Job duties will be:
Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the turkey farm, including feeding, watering, and caring for the turkeys. Managing a team of farm employees and ensuring that they are properly trained and performing their duties effectively. Developing and implementing farm management plans to ensure optimal turkey health and welfare, ensuring that all procedures are in compliance with industry standards, biosecurity and government regulations. Maintaining accurate records of all farm operations, including turkey inventory, feed usage, and employee time and attendance. Ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and in good working condition. Ensuring that all turkeys are cared for in a manner that is safe, humane, and in compliance with industry standards and government regulations. Assisting with the development and implementation of new farm projects, including the expansion of the turkey farm and the introduction of new products. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in turkey farming or a related field Detail oriented, have well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work a varied schedule that includes evenings and weekends as needed. Basic computer skills. Able to read and write English. Strong leadership, communication and team management skills. Bilingual preferred but not mandatory. Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to understand and interpret regulatory requirements and industry standards. Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment. Experience in operating, maintaining and repairing a variety of agriculture equipment. Must have a valid driver license.
