Job Description

Duties:
Manage day-to-day tasks of the farm, ensuring production targets are met, and supervising employees on the farm. Train employees on day-to-day processes and procedures and develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods. Create and manage employee work schedules and maintain accurate personnel paperwork, including performance evaluations and providing constructive and timely feedback to employees. Perform audits of the farm to ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition. Ensure that all daily and weekly production targets are met, as well as completing and submitting production analysis reports in a timely manner. Ensure the care and conditions of sows on the farm. Submit orders for farm supplies and maintenance needs. No hire / fire authority.
Requirements:
Two years of swine production experience. Experience must include at least one year of management duties on a swine farm, and experience following detailed standard operating procedures. Must have experience managing four or more animal caretakers for sow farms. Must have experience in all processes of swine production from gestation through farrowing and have experience training in vaccination and artificial insemination in swine. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 100 pounds and sometimes push/and or move up to 300 pounds. Must have good written and oral communication skills in English.
