A Farm or Ranch Manager manages operations at a farm or ranch. Directs crop production and management of livestock herds and supervises farm workers who grow and harvest crops or tend to farm animals. Purchases supplies such as seed, fertilizer or animal feed, operates and repairs farm equipment, and maintains facilities. Monitors prices and adapts production as needed due to market changes, weather conditions or other factors.

SUMMARY:
Manager will, with Farm team, assist in executing all aspects of Community Farm. Involvement in a wide spectrum of Farm growing operations may include crop planning, planting, tending, watering, harvesting, greenhouse work and ensuring that best practices are followed. Helps to lead the strategic planning and implementation of all Farm initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and long-term community impact. This role oversees systems, processes, and relationships that support volunteerism, educational programming, and public-facing initiatives, while guiding staff in daily execution. Manager acts on a daily basis as a steward for the Farm and organization at large to increase overall quality of Farm operations through high performing operational excellence.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES
Assists in in moving all team project aspects from start to finish. All farm duties may including planting, tending, harvesting and harvest transport, landscaping, projects and program administration. Learns about regenerative farming and proactively incorporates practices into Farm operations. Will know GAPs (good agricultural practices) and follow and relay these practices to others. Helps to plan and conduct the delivery of workshops, educational experiences or special events which may focus on sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, local food systems or community learning. Lead the design and execution of community engagement events and on-farm gatherings, ensuring high-quality experiences for visitors and volunteers. Provides leadership, guidance, and support to help lead cohesive implementation of strategic vision and community engagement. Assists in overseeing the creation, execution, and refinement of processes, systems, and workflows to improve efficiency, consistency, and program quality. Assists in analytics, community feedback, and tracking program outcomes to inform decision-making and continuous improvement. As a relationship-centered leader, the Manager strengthens the Farm's visibility, cultivates meaningful partnerships, and builds a connective experience for the entire community, ensuring the Farm's programs grow in impact and reach. Collaborates with the Farm Engagement coordinator to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment. Assists in training and guiding of Farm staff to ensure cohesion of public facing communications and messaging. Helps to develop and manage corporate volunteer and partner development initiatives to increase donations to the Farm. Assists in coordinating and supporting grant proposals, including reporting and outcome tracking. Serve as a primary relationship steward for corporate groups, community partners, educational institutions, and local organizations, cultivating strong, mutually beneficial partnerships. Maintains high standards of relationship-centered service delivery, modeling thoughtful communication, follow-up, and responsiveness with volunteers, partners, and community members. Assists in Volunteer Management Systems such as volunteer onboarding and best practice training. Regularly helps to build, develop and lead teams of volunteers. Leads group tours and volunteers sessions which ensure positive experiences. Manage internships or other work experiences that support the broader needs of the Farm. Assists in maintenance and repair of tools, equipment, machines, infrastructure and buildings across the farm including regular cleaning and organization. Tasks may include cleaning gutters, painting, power washing or repairing fencing. Additional maintenance may include mowing, weed whacking and ice/snow removal. Daily cleaning responsibilities may include bathroom, trash or other. Proactively monitors and addresses safety and security concerns. Purchasing and order pickups from vendors. Perform additional leadership duties or tasks as assigned by Director of Farm Operations or other organizational leadership to support the mission and evolving needs of the Farm.
