Weekends are some of our busiest and most exciting days at Fascinate-U! The Weekend Manager helps make sure everything runs smoothly, from welcoming families and supervising staff and volunteers to preparing for birthday parties, supporting programs, and keeping the museum clean and ready for play. This position serves as the museum's Manager on Duty during weekend operations and is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable taking the lead, and can confidently handle the unexpected situations that come with a busy, hands-on children's museum. The Weekend Manager is a part-time position with a regular Friday-Sunday schedule:

Friday:

8:00 AM-5:00

PM Saturday:

9:00 AM-5:00

PM Sunday:

11:30 AM-5:00 PM Friday begins with museum-wide cleaning and preparation before opening and also serves as an important preparation day for the weekend. The Weekend Manager will review upcoming birthday parties, programs, events, staffing needs, and other weekend activities to ensure the museum and team are prepared for Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday and Sunday, the Weekend Manager serves as Manager on Duty, overseeing daily museum operations, supervising student staff and volunteers, supporting birthday parties and programs, maintaining the visitor experience, and responding to operational needs as they arise. Weekend availability is an essential requirement of this position. Occasional additional hours may be available or required for staff meetings, training, special events, or other museum needs.

Is dependable, confident, friendly, and comfortable taking the lead. Has excellent customer service and communication skills. Is comfortable supervising and providing direction to student staff and volunteers. Can remain calm and make good decisions when unexpected situations arise. Is organized and able to manage several activities and priorities at the same time. Is comfortable interacting with children, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners. Is willing to be hands-on with cleaning, organizing, resetting exhibits, and other daily museum needs. Can work independently and take initiative while recognizing when an issue needs to be brought to museum leadership. Demonstrates good judgment, flexibility, and problem-solving skills. Has a genuine interest in children, families, learning, and the mission of Fascinate-U Children's Museum. Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, museums, recreation, education, retail, childcare, or another public-facing environment is preferred. Previous supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
