Job Description

The Fishman Lab at Harvard is looking to grow our aquatics care team! We're seeking a dependable, detail-oriented person to help look after our zebrafish colony. No prior lab experience needed — we'll train you on everything. What you'll do: Prepare food and carry out daily feeding Monitor fish for signs of illness or stress Clean and scrub tanks on a regular rotation Inspect and maintain our recirculating water systems Test water quality (pH, salinity, temperature, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate) and keep all readings within healthy ranges Schedule & compensation: Part-time, up to 20 hours/week Weekday mornings, 9:00am-1:00pm $19.00-$20.00/hour Non-benefitted position What we're looking for: Someone reliable who shows up consistently Comfortable with routine, hands-on tasks like feeding and cleaning Strong attention to detail Solid reading/writing skills for logging and labeling A genuine interest in animal welfare Clear communicator who works well with a team Prior experience with animals (even pets) is a plus but not required.
Please note:
this role is located near active research spaces where procedures such as surgeries and drug studies take place. You will not be asked to take part in any research procedures — your focus will be entirely on the daily care and wellbeing of the animals.
