Summary As a Hatchery Lead, you take on a vital leadership role at the heart of hatchery operations. You guide, train, and support hatchery associates while closely monitoring equipment and processes to ensure everything runs at peak performance. By maintaining optimal environmental conditions, you help deliver healthy, high-quality chicks to our growers, playing a direct role in the success of our operations and the strength of our production system.
Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 5:55am- 2:30pm Benefits This position has a base rate of $23
- $25 per hour depending on experience and qualification levels.
- Lead and delegate tasks to Hatchery worker to maintain hatchery efficiency and compliance to animal welfare guidelines.
- Identify and report equipment deficiencies in a timely manner.
- Incubation practices such as Egg candling, Egg breakout and machine monitoring and calibration.
- Perform all duties as requested by management in a timely and efficient manner, in accordance with hatchery and company standard operating procedures, while fostering team spirit and morale.
- Adhere to all safety rules including PPE, preventing and reporting unsafe acts and conditions, Lockout-Tagout procedures and Process Safety Management related matters Minimum Education
- High school or equivalent Experience Requirements
- A background in Broiler hatchery operations is preferred.
- Knowledge and familiarity of PC applications such as excel, word and database applications such as Mtech, Safety Chain is preferred. Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift egg cases weighing up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to interior temperatures of 55
- 105 degrees and outside weather conditions.
- Humidity up to 100%
- Work in a wet, damp, dusty (chick down) environment
- Exposure to chemicals and vaccines used in a Hatchery Process
- Must wear and/or use personal protective equipment/devices in accordance with SOPs and company directives.
