Job Description

Alisal, a luxury 10,500 private acre, working Ranch and Resort in the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country is seeking an experienced and service-oriented Guide, Cycling to join our Activities Team. This Part-time role services guest by conducting guided tours using pedal assist bikes. The person in this role must have expert skills in mountain biking and safety to climb intricate trails while showcasing the beauty of Alisal's 10,000-acre ranch and wildlife. Guides are responsible for setting up each E-bike based on the rider's information, inspecting each E-bike for proper maintenance such as tire pressure, operation suspension, and charge level. Guides also conduct pre- ride training, rider evaluations, fill out charge slips and post-ride maintenance. Guides work closely with and are in communication with other departments to orchestrate and execute excellent guest experiences. Guides must be well versed about the area's history and culture to promote and inform guests about what Alisal and the Santa Ynez Valley have to offer. Guides must be aware and able to adjust to changing weather conditions and manage emergencies on the road.
QUALIFICATIONS
Expert level mountain biking skills, and customer service experience preferred. Strong knowledge in bike maintenance/mechanical skills. CPR and First Aid Certification. Able to ride comfortably at least 30+ miles per working shift while managing a group's pace. Desire to establish outstanding, authentic, and memorable interactions with internal and external guests. Integrity, dependability, and adaptability. Skilled at multi-tasking, heightened attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and organization. Commitment to confidentiality. Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs. Able to work on site and to ride, stand, sit, walk, and move continuously for duration of shift. Ability to work indoors, and mainly outdoors, and in varying temperatures.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to present proof of identity and legal right to work in the United States post offer, pre-employment. Conditional offer subject to criminal background check and DMV record review. Open availability to accommodate varied schedules as well as being able to work on weekends and holidays.
PAY AND BENEFITS
Position pay rate is $20.50 per hour plus a portion of the ranch fee, and eligible for gratuities. Free meals. Exceptional perks and discounts for use of Ranch services and facilities.
