Job Description:
The Part-Time Operations Floater provides flexible support throughout the facility to ensure daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position assists with resident services, facility maintenance, meal service assistance, administrative tasks, meal services, safety monitoring, and other operational needs as assigned. The Operations Floater works closely with staff, residents, volunteers, and community partners while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
Job Requirements:
Conduct daily grounds inspections with Supervisor Organizing the basement areas; keeping all shelves clean and organized, including areas that volunteers care for. Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations. Make and hand out food boxes as needed. Help keep food pantries clan and organized, including regular reviews of expiration dates on all foods. Knowledge of the first in first out rule. Restock from basement to main pantry. Help keep all areas of the main house clean and organized. This will mean sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash and cardboard at times. Receive, process and organize donations. Keep the hot room clean, including the shower and storage rooms. Clean shelter and transitional units when clients move out and when maintenance is finished. Take new clients on intake tours. Help conduct weekly inspections on our shelter and transitional units. Other duties may be assigned by your Supervisor, Operations Manager, or Executive Director.
Qualifications:
Reliability and flexibility. Must be able to lift 25lbs consistently. Lift 50lbs occasionally. Teamwork and collaboration. Problem-solving and adaptability. Must be able to read and write English. Good communication skills. Conflict resolution and de-escalation. Must be able to stay calm in a high conflict situation. Compassion and professionalism. Must be able to take and follow directions. Ability to stand, walk up and down stairs, climb a ladder, kneel, bend, and remain generally active all day. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
