Seasonal Nursery Plant Associate

Description:

Chalet is a fourth generation, family owned retailer that has served our community for over 100 years. We sell a variety of products including outdoor plants, indoor plants, garden products, outdoor furniture, home and holiday decorations, and pet food/supplies. We have an opportunity for a new team member who likes to work mostly outside in a very physical job. You'll primarily be responsible for preparing our Nursery to be ready for the busy Spring season, with trees, shrubs and other plants ready for customers to purchase.

Responsibilities include:

Unloading tree and shrub trucks. Setting up the Nursery yard. Unhealing the trees and shrubs that were put away for the winter. Watering plants. Supporting our planting crew as needed. Helping with deliveries as needed.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: We're looking for helpful, hardworking and accountable people who can lift at least 50 pounds (75 pounds ideally). Being comfortable working actively and being on your feet for 8 or 9 hour shifts. Available to work 5 days per week (including 1 shift on a weekend day if possible) with a schedule that is 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm daily. Previous experience working with plants or in retail or a warehouse is a plus.
