Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fisherman and immerse yourself in the exciting world of sustainable fishing and aquatic resource management. In this role, you will be responsible for harvesting fish and other marine life, ensuring adherence to environmental laws and safety standards. Your efforts will contribute to responsible fishing practices, supporting local communities and ecosystems. This position offers a hands-on experience in aquatic environments, combining physical activity with environmental stewardship. Duties Operate fishing gear such as nets, traps, and lines to catch fish efficiently while minimizing environmental impact Maintain and repair fishing equipment using hand tools and power tools to ensure optimal performance Collect data on fish populations, sizes, and catch rates for research and regulatory compliance purposes Handle marine animals with care, ensuring humane treatment during capture, handling, and release procedures Manage facilities related to fishing operations, including boats, storage areas, and processing stations Follow environmental laws and regulations related to fishing quotas, protected species, and habitat preservation Conduct dissection or biological sampling of marine life for scientific research or health assessments Requirements Prior experience or knowledge in farming or aquaculture practices is beneficial but not mandatory Familiarity with environmental law pertaining to marine ecosystems and fishing regulations Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately with proper animal care techniques Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic math for measurements and calculations Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) for mapping fishing zones or habitats is a plus Capable of performing heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments Strong data collection skills to record catch details accurately and systematically Join us if you're passionate about sustainable fishing practices, enjoy working outdoors, and want to make a positive impact on marine conservation efforts!
Pay:
$50,002.57 - $60,218.15 per year
