Description :
Trail Attendant will be tasked with maintaining compliance with the Trail rules and Trail pass compliance. They will ride a bicycle 5 days a week covering each section of trail weekly per the schedule. They will report to the Manager any trail issues for maintenance, check bathrooms on given routes daily, visit with all trail users for pass compliance and ensure visitors enjoy their stay in the Black Hills. Trail Maintenance will be tasked with maintaining the trail surface, keeping it free of wash outs, large rocks, trees and other objects that can create hazardous conditions for trail users. They will assist in cleaning bathrooms, mowing, weed removal, fence and gate upgrades/fixes, and many trail projects to improve the visitor experience.
General Requirements :
Riding and push mowers, weed eaters, power washers, small hand tools and power tools, ability to problem solve on site, basic bicycle maintenance, knowledgeable about the Black Hills and surrounding area, comfortable visiting with visitors.
Other Information :
This position works 40 hours per week. Occasionally a night or weekend will be required. Please note this is a temporary or seasonal, non-benefited position, exempt from civil service. How to
