Job Description

About the position:

Bananarchy is looking for a dependable, organized, and hands-on Assistant Manager to assist our GM in overseeing our operations, facilities, and inventory systems, while also supporting production, customer service, and large events.

In addition to working and leading shifts at our locations, events, and prep facility, this position also has responsibility for routine inspections of each location, preventative maintenance schedules using Google Sheets, coordinating contractors for repairs, and maintaining timely permit compliance. The AM also oversees inventory management by ordering and delegating and/or personally completing inventory shopping. The AM also must drive the Bananarchy food truck as needed to events, catering, or inspections.

Responsibilities may look different each week, and the right person should be able to shift priorities and keep operations running smoothly even when things go a little bananas.

ResponsibilitiesFacilities and equipment:

Maintain preventive-maintenance schedules, equipment records, manuals, warranties, and repair historiesRegularly inspect our food trailers, food truck, refrigeration, appliances, plumbing fixtures, and other equipmentPerform basic maintenance and repairs and determine when a qualified vendor is neededSchedule and oversee repair and maintenance contractors and follow through until problems are resolvedMaintain organized tools, replacement parts, and emergency suppliesCoordinate approved repairs and upgrades within established budgetsRespond promptly to urgent operational problems and carry them through resolutionInventory and organization:

Maintain inventory plans, par levels, ordering schedules, and organized storage systems using Google SheetsEnsure ingredients, packaging, cleaning supplies, tools, and event equipment are available when neededEnsure weekly inventory shopping and supply pickups are completed, either personally or through properly supervised delegationIdentify shortages, excess inventory, damaged items, and recurring wastePrepare and organize inventory and equipment for catering and large eventsMaintain accurate records in Google Sheets and other company systemsOperations, leadership, and customer service:

Work and lead regular location shiftsTrain and support employees in customer-service, food-safety, cleanliness, and operating standardsAssist with production prep, catering, and large eventsFill in for location, prep, catering, or large-event shifts when unexpected coverage is neededSafely drive Bananarchy's food truck when neededResolve customer questions and concerns calmly and appropriatelyWork closely with the owner and General Manager to coordinate priorities, staffing, inventory, maintenance, and eventsCommunicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers and share important information promptlyTrack hours using the Workforce app and Bananarchy's communicate through DiscordWhat we are looking forPositive can-do attitude and a sense of humorGreat customer service and communication skillsStrong organization, judgment, and consistent follow-throughStrong mechanical inclination and comfort using basic hand and power tools such as a drill and wrenchAbility to troubleshoot problems and determine when outside help is neededExperience leading employees in food service, retail, events, facilities, or a similar environmentComfort using Google Workspace, especially Google SheetsAdaptability and comfort with responsibilities that may change from week to weekWillingness to perform both management and hands-on operational workCalm, practical decision-making during urgent situationsReliable availability for approximately 40 hours per week, including some evenings, Saturdays, and large eventsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over short distances, bend, safely use a step ladder, and stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodationValid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle insurance requirementsWillingness and ability to safely drive Bananarchy's food truckReliable transportation suitable for traveling between locations and completing inventory shopping and supply pickupsAbility to move inventory, supplies, and equipment as requiredWillingness to authorize a background check, driving record check, and pre-employment drug screening after receiving a conditional offerExperience with food service, commercial food equipment, food trucks, trailers, vehicles, inventory management, basic repairs, or repair contractor coordination is great.
