• Production Agriculture Overview?

The Field Inspector supports seed production by collecting accurate field data and monitoring crop quality throughout the growing season. This role focuses on daily field inspections, identifying issues, and entering data to ensure fields meet quality standards. Key Responsibilities + Inspect assigned corn fields daily for crop development, plant health, and field conditions + Count silks, tassels, and identify off-type plants + Rate field quality and report any issues impacting standards + Document pests, environmental conditions, and field hazards + Record plant characteristics (e.g., color, leaf count, growth traits) + Enter accurate data daily using field inspection software + Communicate regularly with field leadership on updates and concerns + Follow safety protocols and work independently to manage routes and inspections Basic Qualifications + Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions + Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate counts + Basic computer skills for data entry + Strong communication and organization skills + Reliable transportation for daily field travel Preferred Experience + Agriculture, farm work, scouting, or general labor experience + Familiarity with crops or outdoor work environments Work Environment + 100% outdoor work in corn fields (June-August) + Regular walking, exposure to heat, dust, pollen, and insects + Daily travel between multiple field locations Why This Role? + Great resume builder with hands-on experience in agriculture and data collection + Opportunity to earn strong income over the summer (paid hours + mileage) + Build real-world skills in crop inspection, technology, and field operations Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Normal, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00

• $35.07/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
