This role plays a critical part in maintaining safety, reliability, and compliance by identifying defects, documenting findings, and verifying proper operation before machines are placed into service or delivered to customers. Key Responsibilities Perform detailed Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on all incoming and outgoing machines, following manufacturer guidelines and company checklists. Verify the functionality of key systems including hydraulics, electrical, safety switches, control systems, and emergency lowering devices. Inspect for visible damage, wear, leaks, or missing components. Confirm machine specifications match order requirements (model, decals, manuals, accessories, etc.). Ensure proper installation of safety decals, manuals, and labeling. Conduct functional tests of lifting, lowering, and steering mechanisms. Record inspection results, deficiencies, and corrective actions in inspection logs. Communicate issues to the service/repair team for resolution. Maintain compliance with

Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training in mechanics or equipment maintenance preferred. 1-2 years' experience inspecting, maintaining, or repairing heavy equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, or similar machinery is strongly preferred. Prior experience in a PDI/QA inspection role in equipment rental, dealership, or manufacturing is strongly preferred. Knowledge & Skills Strong knowledge of machines systems (hydraulic, electrical, mechanical). Familiarity with OSHA and ANSI inspection standards for aerial work platforms. Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, and inspection checklists. Strong attention to detail and ability to spot defects or safety hazards. Basic computer/data entry skills to complete inspection reports. Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Physical Requirements Ability to climb, crouch, and work in tight spaces. Comfortable working at heights when testing lifts. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Working outside in a non-enviormentally controlled weather.
