Job Description

You can help achieve this goal if you can: Supervise and provide leadership and direction to the Inspection Department. Provide supervision and coordination of contract inspection personnel during shutdown and extended duration inspection projects. Provide expertise, direction, supervision, and coordination in inspection, testing, design, alteration and repair of fixed equipment. Develop and implement programs to ensure the reliability and safety of fixed equipment. Provide root cause failure analysis of components including corrosion research, reporting and supervision of metallurgical analysis. Publish written reports on inspection findings and failure analysis. Review and edit inspection recommendations and reports for code and engineering compliance. Provide expertise regarding design, fabrication, repair, alteration, inspection, and testing of equipment. Provide fixed equipment design and repair expertise through research and repair recommendations consistent with applicable industry codes, standards, and specifications. Provide inspection guidance in turnaround planning. Review and edit inspection recommendations and reports for code and engineering compliance. Support and backfill the Mechanical Reliability Manager as needed. This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
High School diploma or GED required. 10 years of experience with fixed equipment reliability and/or engineering experience required. Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Texas City Refinery, required.

Bachelor's degree preferred. All successful candidates must be eligible to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
