About This PositionMass Audubon is looking for a dedicated seasonal Property Steward to work closely with the Property Manager at Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary in Edgartown, MA to help manage buildings, trails and grounds, assist with animal care, support staff and volunteers, and maintain clean facilities.

ResponsibilitiesAssist with the maintenance and repair of sanctuary trails, boardwalks, signage, picnic tables, and program spacesPerform daily general maintenance tasks including cleaning the nature center, and public restrooms; removing rubbish and recyclingAssist with general landscaping including gardening, weed whacking, invasive species control, and mowingWork with the Property Manager to develop weekly work plans to be completed both independently and cooperativelyAssist with maintenance of basic equipment such as hand tools and power toolsProvide care for Sanctuary Animal Ambassadors including feeding and habitat cleaning and maintenanceQualificationsAt Mass Audubon, our highest priority is finding the best candidate for the job. Must HavesExcellent reliability and time management skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to perform physical work, sometimes outdoors under adverse conditionsAbility to walk over rough terrain for extended periods of time and lift and carry up to 40 lbsStrong communication skills and ability to effectively interact with othersCompetency with basic forms of technology including email, internet, and Microsoft Office Suite (Teams)Valid drivers license and completion of a driver record checkNice to HavesCarpentry skills, tractor experience, and chainsaw trainingPrior maintenance and/or construction experiencePrior landscaping experienceCompensation, Benefits and PerksThis positions pay range is $19.00-$21.00 per hour; actual rate of pay will reflect level of experience and qualifications relative to position requirements. Shared dorm-style housing may be available. This is not a benefits eligible position.
Work ScheduleThis position starts in July 2026 and ends in September 2026. Full time schedule of 40 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday, 8:00am-4:00pm.
Other RequirementsEmployees must successfully complete a CORI and SORI Background Check and a Motor Vehicle Record (if applicable) is required.
