Position Overview We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Team Urban Forester I-2 (TUF I-2) to provide vital field support to our Project Managers. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to develop their skills and grow within the dynamic field of vegetation management. You'll play a crucial role in helping implement municipal and utility vegetation projects, gaining exposure to a broad range of responsibilities that set the foundation for future career advancement. This is a project-based, fixed-term contract, with the strong potential to transition into a permanent, full-time role depending on performance. Key Responsibilities Assist in property assessments and vegetation management, ensuring high-quality service delivery. Install project flagging and assist in customer communications to facilitate smooth project workflows. Collect essential field measurements and support quality control inspections to maintain excellence in project implementation. Document project progress and maintain comprehensive and accurate records. Ensure safety compliance in work areas and report any hazards or deviations promptly. Represent American Tree Medics with professionalism when interacting with property owners, contractors, and the public. Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success. Education & Experience Requirements Required High school diploma or GED Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record Ability to obtain certifications (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Defensive Driver Training) Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions Physical ability to hike and lift up to 50 pounds Strong communication skills Preferred Experience in forestry, landscaping, or related outdoor industries Wildland fire experience
Certifications:
Forestry and safety-related certifications are highly encouraged Compensation Starting compensation Level 1 is commensurate with experience and baseline certifications. Level 2 Additional pay increases are tied to advanced certifications and experience . Physical and Work Environment This position involves walking 510 miles per day over challenging terrain, ascending steep hillsides, and navigating natural obstacles in varied weather conditions. PPE is mandatory throughout the workday, as is riding in company vehicles between project sites. Join Us!
