In this role, you will: Welcome and intake guests with empathy and respect, ensuring a trauma-informed, guest-centered approach Support nightly operations by overseeing bed assignments, check-ins, and transitions with calm and care Respond to crises with compassion and composure, using de-escalation techniques and coordinating with emergency services when necessary Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment so that all guests have a space that reflects dignity and respect Document guest interactions and facility needs clearly and promptly to help our team provide consistent, informed care Collaborate with colleagues, volunteers, and community partners to meet each guest's needs through holistic and coordinated support Drive passenger vans when needed, assisting with guest transportation and personal belongings Adapt to both indoor and outdoor environments, including various weather conditions such as rain, heat, or cold What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who leads with heart, patience, and integrity. A big-hearted, steady presence who remains calm under pressure, compassionate, and grounded in healthy boundaries A reliable teammate who can work independently, especially during evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts Experience and understanding of homelessness, mental health, or substance use challenges are highly valued Strong communication and documentation skills using basic computer programs High school diploma or equivalent required, related experience strongly preferred Valid driver's license and readiness to drive when needed

Who We Are Since 2004, The Gathering Inn has compassionately reached out to individuals experiencing homelessness, aiming to welcome new beginnings and transform lives. Originally a winter-only shelter serving 40 individuals nightly, we have evolved into a multifaceted organization with multiple locations, serving nearly 500 individuals and families daily. Our mission is to meet people where they are, inspire hope, and walk alongside them on their journey to sustainable housing. Through our emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, and medical respite care, we provide programs and support designed to empower guests toward self-sufficiency and long-term stability.
