Each day brings new adventures, from biking and paddle boarding to gardening to creative projects, all designed to help campers grow in confidence, develop independence, and form meaningful relationships. Staff have opportunities to earn certifications like First Aid/CPR, mountain biking, and paddling, all while being mentored by a supportive leadership team. Who You Are A positive and energetic role model who builds strong, supportive relationships with kids Skilled at creating a sense of belonging and community within your group Comfortable leading activities, primarily team building and culture-building programming Communicative and professional with parents, helping them stay connected to camp life Excited to spend your summer outdoors, unplugged, and fully engaged in the experience What You'll Do Follow all Go West Camps guidelines and emergency procedures, American Camp Association standards, State Social Services standards, and County Health Department standards Provide consistent support and assistance to a variety of camper groups throughout each session Assist, support and facilitate daily activities that support social, emotional, and physical growth Build strong relationships with campers and families Help facilitate lunch and snack times, supervising children during meals and transitions Support Check-In and Check-Out each day, welcoming and assisting families Ensure proper use, organization, storage, and care of materials and equipment Share in assigned cleaning responsibilities, keeping program and storage areas neat and organized Maintain open, friendly, professional relationships with staff, parents, and participants Attend all trainings, meetings, and in-services Assist with other projects around camp; being flexible to an open schedule
Fine Print Seasonal Position:
Full-time (38-40 hrs/week) during summer, typically scheduled between 7:00am and 6:00pm,
Monday-Friday Location:
Colorado Springs Compensation:
$15.25/hr
Qualifications:
Age:
18+ Experience working with children (required) and supervising staff (preferred) CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certificationsValid driver's license (eligible to drive camp vehicles after training)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move actively throughout camp, supervise children outdoors, and maintain awareness in a dynamic environment. Go West Camps is a drug-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free facility. Participation in occasional overnights and weekend programs may be required.
