Ice Technician Newington Arena Newington, CT Job Details Part-time $19 - $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Opportunities for advancement Qualifications Customer service Driver's License Manual handling Mechanical knowledge Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a reliable and motivated Ice Technician to join our arena operations team. This position is responsible for maintaining high-quality ice conditions, operating ice resurfacing equipment (Zamboni), and assisting with general facility operations to ensure a safe and professional environment for athletes, teams, and guests. Previous Zamboni experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Duties Operate and maintain ice resurfacing equipment (Olympia and/or Zamboni) Prepare and maintain ice surfaces for practices, games, and events Perform basic ice maintenance, including edging, flooding, and repairs Assist with facility setup and breakdown for events Monitor arena cleanliness and safety conditions Perform light maintenance and custodial duties as needed Follow all safety procedures and operational guidelines Provide excellent customer service to teams, coaches, and guests Requirements Strong work ethic and reliability Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a cold environment Mechanical aptitude or facility maintenance experience is a plus Prior ice arena or Zamboni experience preferred, but not required Valid driver's license preferred Schedule Part-time available Nights, weekends, and holiday availability required (We are closed on the important holidays) Compensation Competitive hourly pay based on experience Benefits Flexible scheduling Opportunity for advancement Training provided Work in a fast-paced sports environment
