Job Description

Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for an Ordnance Technician II . The job location is at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, Oklahoma.
Scope of Performance:
This position is that of an Ordnance Technician II, McAlester Army Ammunition Plant, Oklahoma. This position will be for a full-time on-site technician and shall be subject to Department of Transportation physical examinations and certification requirements. Schedules will be dependent on the requirements of the customer per specified contract guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of duties that include, but not limited to, inspection, repair, and testing of various weapon and ordnance fixtures Disassemble, clean, repair and replace various complex systems parts in accordance with strict technical drawing packages Prepare equipment surfaces for painting or coating utilizing power tools, hand tools, or sanding/scuffing equipment Identify worn or damaged parts on new and existing equipment in a timely manner Maintain detailed logs (electronic or written), reports and technical drawings Responsible for following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for production and repair Use of equipment including, but not limited to, forklifts, trucks, and other various lifting equipment Maintain an accurate inventory of assets utilizing automated information systems and/or paper logbooks Understanding and utilizing hazardous waste practices for transport and storage Assists fellow departments to streamline flow of materials Follow written procedures, data packages, evaluation reports, and equipment maintenance documentation Adhere to strict safety standards and procedures for use of tools and handling or repairing fixtures Education and Experience -
Required:
Previous experience in ordnance or weapon systems manufacturing High School Diploma or equivalent U.S. Citizen and valid driver's license Ability to carry and handle items weighing up to 40 pounds Ability to utilize, wear, and maintain respirator qualification Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Ability to work with automated computer systems and Microsoft Office products Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, both military and private industry
