Job Description

Senior Development Release Manager Techstra Solutions - 4.0 Dallas, TX Job Details 13 hours ago Qualifications Jira Bitbucket Java Confluence ServiceNow Python Full Job Description Role Overview The Senior Development Release Manager is responsible for the end-to-end orchestration of software delivery within our retail banking division. This role focuses on high-stakes FICO-related applications that drive critical decisioning logic. You will bridge the gap between high-level release strategy and technical execution, ensuring that our stateless, Java-based backend services are deployed with precision. Unlike traditional management roles, this position requires a "player-coach" mentality, involving hands-on Java and Python development during cooling periods or to build automation tools that streamline the release lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Oversee the full release lifecycle for FICO decisioning applications, ensuring all code moves through environments according to strict banking compliance standards. Act as the primary coordinator between development, QA, and operations teams to manage dependencies and resolve bottlenecks. Develop and maintain automation scripts and minor application enhancements using Java and Python. Manage and track progress using Red/Green Epic status reporting to provide clear visibility to stakeholders. Maintain rigorous documentation and version control hygiene across all release tracks. Facilitate release readiness reviews, go/no-go meetings, and post-implementation retrospectives. Required Qualifications/ Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Minimum of 5-7 years in release management or software engineering within a DevOps-centric environment. Strong core Java development background with a willingness to remain hands-on. Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation tasks. Expert-level experience with the Atlassian Suite, specifically Bitbucket, Jira, and Confluence. Proven experience managing complex releases in a large-scale enterprise environment, preferably in fintech or banking. Ability to manage "stateless" application architectures that do not rely on traditional database persistence. Preferred Qualifications Direct experience with FICO applications or FICO Decision Modeler. Familiarity with ServiceNow for change management and incident tracking. Experience working with Red/Green Epic methodology for project tracking. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native deployment strategies.
