Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Ripener is responsible for maintaining a daily inventory, with special attention to maintain the proper color stage expectations of fruit, with very low tolerance for variance. Responsibilities This position will be responsible for the avocado ripening process. In this role, will also determine product disposition and perform quality and color checks. Based on forecasted needs, plan, direct, execute and monitor the ripening process. Establish and maintain ripening schedules, monitor room, adjustments as needed, and coordinate with the buying/sales team for fruit availability. Responsible for the quality of ripening and ensuring proper color stage specifications are obtained and shipped according to standard operating procedures. Ripen and maintain avocados according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Perform quality inspections, sort and grade avocados upon arrival. Supervise the loading and unloading of inbound product, including inspections. Control of inventory on a daily basis; Ensure quality evaluations of inbound, outbound product are carried out, documented according to reporting requirements. Must report product that does not meet specifications, including pallet, packaging, or product appearance. Communicate with individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing, on all issues that directly affect the ripening process. (Inventory levels, Color stage of product, Product availability, Product shrink, and other quality related issues) in a timely manner Perform other duties as assigned This position requiresavailabilityto work on weekends. Must havefork liftexperience. Prepare,reviewand communicate business reports;identifyareas of opportunities and execute resolutions including follow-through.
