School year Monday - Friday, Hours vary between 2pm and 7pm Summer Monday - Friday, Hours vary between 7:30am and 5pm Occasional nights and weekends with proper notice Primary Purpose Under the direction of the Chief Impact Officer, the Food Service Professional is responsible for assisting in all daily food and kitchen operations of the Food Program. This includes daily preparation, production, and service of high-quality meals. Our Club Support team helps us to focus on our mission and positive youth development outcomes opening the door to new worlds and possibilities for kids and communities across the Northern Neck. Be responsible for following monthly menus. Be aware of and comply with Virginia Department of Health mandates. Be responsible for the assistance with cleanliness and proper storage of all equipment and the proper handling, serving and storage of all foods. Complete necessary preparation of food by following proper sanitation, safety guidelines, regulations, and standards. Adhere to USDA portion control guide using the correct utensils for each food component in order to meet USDA standards. Keep daily temperature recordings of stored and prepared foods. Record daily number of meals served and delivered. Be responsible for the cleanliness of all kitchens. Be responsible for keeping records for the food program, as required by the state. Assist with coordinating the use of food service department facilities and/or equipment by staff or outside groups. Report any incidents to the Chief Impact Officer. Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.Requirements:
CERTIFICATION/ASSOCIATION
Must be registered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (www.mybgca.net). Complete required assigned trainings. Will be required to gain First Aid and CPR Certifications. ServSafe certified or ability to become certified in food safety required.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must be at least 18 years of age. Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent Knowledge of kitchen operations and food preparation required. Experience working with children. Must be organized and reliable. Flexibility to work clubhouse hours, especially as seasons and service needs change. Must have demonstrated effective communication skills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to perform duties which require walking, talking, hearing, standing, sitting, bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel, run and/or climb. Must be able to use the telephone and other office equipment. Must be able to lift, move, manipulate and or hold objects up to 25 pounds. Objects that exceed the 25-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting, or manipulating.General BGCNN Expectations:
