Job Description
Overview The Rental Technician is responsible for fitting and renting boots, skis, and snowboards — all with a welcoming smile and a focus on guest satisfaction. This role ensures every guest is properly equipped for a safe and fun experience on the mountain. Technicians use the rental shop's scanning system to check equipment in and out, helping maintain accurate inventory and efficient gear management. Come work and play at Seattle's home mountain, The Summit at Snoqualmie. Located an hour from Seattle, at the junction where the Pacific Crest Trail crosses Interstate 90. With summer activities ramping up with spectacular Mountain Biking trails and Scenic Lift Rides, there is a lot to do all year long. Responsibilities Job duties may include, but are not limited to: Excellence in Execution Provide personalized boot fitting and binding adjustments, fit skis and snowboards for guests, and demonstrate how bindings work. Adjust and test bindings, and perform general maintenance and repairs on equipment, ensuring guest safety through strict attention to detail. Complete daily opening, cleaning, and closing duties as assigned. Use basic computer skills to manage daily inventory, including scanning equipment in and out. Maintain a clean, inviting, and visually pleasing shop, and shovel snow around the rental building as needed. Work efficiently and safely, especially during peak hours, to keep guest wait times low. Exceed Rental Shop goals and standards through integrity and teamwork. Attitude is Everything Encourage a positive atmosphere in the rental shop for guests and employees alike, welcoming everyone with a smile. Lead with optimism, adaptability, and professionalism, especially during peak periods and high-stress moments. Develop Great People Share fitting and binding adjustment tips with new team members to help them grow and keep service standards high long-term. Serve First Greet guests, determine their needs, and answer questions about ski/snowboard equipment and rental services, providing superior service to internal and external customers. Handle guest questions and concerns promptly and professionally. Prioritize guest needs by actively listening, offering personalized recommendations, and ensuring every renter feels valued and appreciated. Qualifications What we are looking for: Required Must be at least 18 years old. Basic computer skills. Multitasking and guest service skills. Daily inventory management experience. Must wear the provided uniform and name tag at all times while on shift. Preferred Previous experience in ski/snowboard rental, retail, or guest service. Wage and Benefit Info:
The wage range for this positions is: from $21.00-23.00/hr This is a non-benefited role. All individuals may contribute to the 401(k). An employee must work 1,000 hours in a calendar year to qualify for the discretionary match (there is a 2-year vesting cliff). All individuals accrue sick time at 1 hour per 40 hours worked to a maximum of 64 hours per year. All Team Members may participate in our Ally Heath benefit. It gives fast and easy access to Telemedicine and Mental Health appointments. It covers all family members and there are no copays or deductibles. It is a $4 deduction each week.
