Job Summary Landscape & Construction Foreman Oak River Landscaping | Petaluma, CA (serving Sonoma & Marin County) Full-time, Year-Round | $40
  • 50/hour, depending on experience About Us Oak River Landscaping is a family-owned, locally operated landscape and site improvement company based in Petaluma, CA (CSLB #1034137, C-27), proudly serving residential and commercial clients throughout Sonoma and Marin County.
We specialize in site improvement, drainage and grading, excavation, irrigation, and landscape maintenance — We're looking for an experienced Foreman to lead installation crews on landscape construction projects across Sonoma and Marin County. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be on-site every day, running the job, directing the crew, and working alongside them. Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the installation crew on residential and commercial landscape construction projects
  • Read and execute site plans, set string lines, and establish accurate elevations and grades for construction and drainage work
  • Perform and oversee irrigation installation and repair, concrete work, retaining wall construction, paver installation, carpentry (fencing, decking, framing, form work), and excavation/grading
  • Install and troubleshoot drainage systems, ensuring proper slope and water flow
  • Use hand and power tools (hand saws, levels, laser levels/transits, and similar) to execute precise, accurate work
  • Take accurate field measurements and lay out projects to match plans and specs
  • Safely operate heavy equipment (skid steer, mini excavator, and similar)
  • Coordinate materials, scheduling, and crew assignments to keep jobs on time and on budget
  • Communicate daily with the Project Manager on job progress, issues, and material needs
  • Keep the job site safe, organized, and productive
  • Train and mentor crew members, upholding Oak River's standards for craftsmanship and professionalism Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in landscape/construction, with proven ability to independently handle irrigation, concrete, retaining walls, pavers, carpentry, excavation, and grading
  • Skilled with hand tools (including hand saws) and layout tools — string lines, levels, and measuring for accurate grade and elevation work
  • Strong understanding of drainage principles and installation
  • Solid general construction fundamentals — measuring, layout, and building to plan
  • Prior leadership experience — comfortable running a crew and owning a job site from start to finish
  • Experience safely operating heavy equipment
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required to drive company trucks/trailers)
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in quality craftsmanship
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus What We Offer
