A Landscaping or Grounds Supervisor supervises the staff that provide landscaping for residences, parks, public gardens, college campuses or building or office park grounds. Supervises work to care for plants and trees, including mowing, trimming and planting, and work to repair driveways, walks, benches or other structures. Oversees equipment maintenance and transportation, and communicates with residential customers.

Summary Foremen makes decisions and instructs crew pertaining to production on a daily basis. Foreman have to work side by side with laborers, so they must have the capability to manually complete any activity. A Foreman reports directly to a General, Area or Site Superintendent. Among a Foremans responsibilities are pre-planning work for a crew, providing training opportunities for crew, overseeing safety procedures, quality of workmanship, and the morale and attitude of a crew. Key responsibilities Maintaining a safe, clean and organized workplace site, yard, trailers & trucksSecuring and maintaining equipment activating kill switches, greasing equipment and maintaining fluid levelsManaging the crews daily production and quality standards to meet daily production targetsOrdering and receiving materials, including verifying and reporting quantities and quality of material received (Want list)Identifying and communicating manpower and equipment needs to SuperintendentRecording actual quantities installed, crew size and hours worked and updating production activities on 2-week schedule as changes to original plans occurArranging for job inspections, utility locates and utility refreshersInforming Superintendent of changes to original Work OrderCompleting paperwork, including Timecards, diaries, production tracking worksheet, bi-weekly inventory of equipment and safety documents, accurately and timely Other duties In addition to the above responsibilities, Foreman may be involved in additional support activities, including but not limited to: Completing Final Inspection Reports and end of maintenance/warrantyAttending meetings with customer/architectAttending branch meetings, such as Foremans meeting, pre-job and pre-production meetings and quarterly safety meetingsStaying current on all safety training and submitting forms related to SafetyFollowing accident procedures if and when accidents occur Must dos for fulfilling responsibilities: Hold Monday morning safety tailgate meetingReturn customer calls within 30 minutesUtilize Foreman checklist, including holding start of the day huddle day and mid-day check-in, every dayUpdate Superintendent at least once per dayReview and update 2 week schedule dailyBenefits:
