SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Landscape Project Manager (LPM) must be thoroughly familiar with and able to perform all aspects of landscape planting and hardscape construction. This would include reading and following blueprints, estimating, production, scheduling, customer service, training, and ordering materials/supplies. The LPM directly oversees the Crew Foremen/Leaders and the installation of landscape and hardscape projects while interfacing with clients, subcontractors and suppliers. The LPM is responsible to recruit, train, manage and motivate the Landscape Construction teams in accordance with company procedures, policy and employment law. To achieve the performance standards and levels against agreed targets and budgets. The LPM must keep the Owner apprised of progress (or lack of) on all jobs.
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
  • Works with Account Manager to prepare for new clients and to create smooth transition of sales into operations.
  • Inform the Owner daily or as requested with updates of all jobs in progress.
  • Maintain the Burn Sheet daily to analyze job progress.
  • Oversee the production of all jobs in progress.
  • Inform crews of daily job progress to keep them on schedule and on budget.
  • Look for extras and convert them into change orders and assure they are processed correctly.
  • Interface with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate completion of their phase of the work.
  • Ensure that company production and quality standards are met.
  • Evaluate equipment utilization and recommends future purchases to Owner.
  • Order materials for jobs to ensure they are performed without delays.
  • Manage Scheduling of all field-related activities to be performed per contract and or proposal specifications and within established budgets.
  • Manage morning mobilization and afternoon return.
  • Manage performance expectations.
  • Establish, implement, and manage labor and material budgets.
  • Train, manage, and monitor job sequencing with crew leaders.
  • Review Daily Production Reports and Landscape Management Reports.
Job Requirements
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Two or four year degree in related field not required but preferable and several years of practical industry experience performing related duties.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience leading landscape installation/construction projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Excellent communication skills are imperative for this role and are a requirement for consideration.
  • Understand and have working knowledge of various landscape materials and construction methods to effectively create accurate bids, estimates, and proposals.
  • Ability to read and follow landscape plans.
  • Ability to perform the customary physical demands of the job including performing duties in inclement weather.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
  • Fluent with speaking and writing in the English language.
