Full-Time About BlueOak Outdoor BlueOak Outdoor is a growing lawn, landscape, and outdoor services company serving residential and commercial clients throughout the greater Kansas City area. We provide professional lawn care, landscaping, tree services, seasonal cleanups, snow removal, and other outdoor property services. We are looking for an experienced Landscape Foreman who can lead a crew, manage landscape projects in the field, and make sure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. What You'll Do As our Landscape Foreman, you will be responsible for leading landscape crews and completing projects from start to finish.Responsibilities include:
Lead and work alongside a landscape crew Review job scopes, plans, measurements, and materials before starting work Communicate daily expectations and responsibilities to crew members Install mulch, rock, edging, plants, shrubs, trees, and landscape beds Perform landscape tear-outs, grading, soil preparation, drainage work, and sod installation Assist with retaining walls, pavers, and other light hardscape projects when needed Operate skid steers, mini skid steers, compact equipment, trailers, and other landscape equipment Load and unload materials and equipment Track materials used and communicate additional material needs Maintain an organized and professional jobsite Take before, during, and after photos of projects Perform final quality-control inspections before leaving the property Communicate job progress, problems, and change-order needs to management Maintain company trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment Ensure crews follow company safety procedures Train and develop less-experienced crew members Maintain professional communication with customers while on site Help ensure projects are completed within estimated labor hours and material budgets What We're Looking For Preferred qualifications: 2+ years of professional landscaping experience Previous crew lead or foreman experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of landscape installation and maintenance Ability to read a scope of work and turn it into an organized job plan Experience operating skid steers or similar equipment Experience hauling and backing trailers Valid driver's license with a good driving record Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds and perform physical outdoor work Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Strong attention to detail Good communication and leadership skills Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Experience with grading, drainage, retaining walls, pavers, plant installation, sod, or landscape renovations is a major plus. A successful Landscape Foreman at BlueOak should be able to arrive at a property, understand the scope of work, organize the crew, identify potential problems, communicate with management, and get the project completed correctly. You should take pride in your work and care about the finished product. We're especially interested in someone who wants to grow with the company and eventually take on additional responsibility as our landscape division expands.
