Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Operations Manager specializing in Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance for our team. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of outdoor project execution, ensuring high-quality landscaping, and grounds management services. As an Operations Manager, you will lead a dedicated crew, coordinate landscaping and construction projects, and maintain the aesthetic and functional excellence of outdoor spaces. Your leadership will drive efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction while fostering a positive team environment. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to shape vibrant landscapes and contribute to community beautification projects. Duties Supervise daily landscaping operations, including plant installation, pruning, and grounds maintenance activities. Manage construction projects from planning through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Lead and motivate a crew of landscapers and groundskeepers, providing training in landscape maintenance techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Oversee irrigation system installation, repair, and management to ensure optimal watering efficiency across all sites. Coordinate hardscape installations such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other outdoor structures with contractors and team members. Operate company vehicles safely for transportation of equipment and personnel to various project sites. Identify plants accurately for proper care and maintenance; implement horticultural best practices to promote healthy landscapes. Maintain equipment related to grounds maintenance and landscaping; schedule regular inspections and repairs for tools such as mowers, trimmers, irrigation systems, and hardscape machinery. Ensure compliance with safety regulations during outdoor work activities; conduct safety meetings and enforce proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members to ensure project specifications are met with excellence. Skills Extensive outdoor work experience with a focus on grounds maintenance, landscaping, or horticulture. Proven supervising experience managing teams in outdoor or construction environments. Expertise in landscape maintenance techniques such as planting, pruning, mulching, and soil management. Skilled in irrigation management—installation, troubleshooting, repairs—and water conservation practices. Ability to identify various plants accurately; understanding of horticultural principles. Experience with construction projects involving hardscape elements like patios or retaining walls. Competence in operating groundskeeping equipment safely; grounds maintenance machinery operation skills required. Leadership qualities with the ability to manage crew schedules efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality work. Strong organizational skills for project planning and resource allocation across multiple sites. $49,934.40 - $60,136.05 per year
