TBD JOB PURPOSE
Assists the Superintendent or the Assistant Superintendent, in monitoring daily golf course maintenance schedule while insuring proper set up of golf course for daily pay.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Monitors the daily tasks of staff employees to see that they are accomplished correctly and by radio contact with supervisor or assistant. Makes adjustments to accomplish daily tasks in a timely manner. Sets up the golf course each day by changing cups, tee markers, moving ropes, checking ball washers, etc. Discusses crew performance, task accomplishment, things that need to be done and methods to do them with the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent. Monitors fairway, tees and greens conditions for irrigation, wear color or other irregularities is playing surfaces. Helps keep various records up to date, monitors programs and provided input for performance evaluations. Serves as interpreter during crew meeting, briefings and to ensure crew members understand the daily instructions. Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
(KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND
ABILITIES
): Must be at least 18 years of age or older Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to perform the majority of the tasks that crew members accomplish daily. Familiar with the day to day golf course operations and able to work with people and get the best out of them. Must be able to speak English and Spanish and willing to work long hours and on weekends. Ability to operate most of the golf course equipment and know daily operations. Ability to handle workers in difficult situations; Ability to learn the techniques. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to associate cause and effect relationships in daily golf course maintenance operations.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school Diploma or GED Three years Supervisor experience Five years Maintenance experience
