A Landscaping or Grounds Supervisor supervises the staff that provide landscaping for residences, parks, public gardens, college campuses or building or office park grounds. Supervises work to care for plants and trees, including mowing, trimming and planting, and work to repair driveways, walks, benches or other structures. Oversees equipment maintenance and transportation, and communicates with residential customers.

This pivotal role is for a hands-on leader who combines a mastery of their craft with the ability to drive a team to produce exceptional, high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Crew Lead, you will be directly responsible for turning landscape designs into reality, managing on-site operations, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Project Leadership & Management:
Interpret and execute complex landscape plans, ensuring projects are completed to specification, on time, and within budget. Lead, mentor, and manage an installation crew, assigning tasks, providing clear direction, and fostering a culture of safety and excellence. Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, ensuring professional communication and complete satisfaction.
Technical Execution & Craftsmanship:
. Execute softscape installations, including plantings, trees, and landscape lighting, demonstrating deep horticultural knowledge. Address and resolve any on-site challenges with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Heavy Equipment Operation:
Proficiently operate heavy machinery, including mini excavators and compact track loaders/skid steers, for grading, excavation, and material handling. Ensure all equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
Logistics & Professionalism:
Safely operate company trucks and trailers for transporting materials and heavy equipment. Manage daily site logistics, including the loading of materials and tools, and ensure sites are clean and organized at the end of each day.
Qualifications & Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of direct, hands-on experience in professional landscape construction. Proficiency in reading and implementing landscape plans and blueprints. Proven skill in operating mini excavators, skid steers, and related construction equipment is essential. Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience managing and motivating a crew. A valid NYS Driver's License with a clean driving record is required. Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) is a significant advantage. Hardscaping experience is a significant advantage.
