Field Manager, Grounds Maintenance Pay From $60,000.00 per year Reports To Maintenance Superintendent Job Overview The Field Manager in the Grounds Maintenance division at Saluda Hill Landscapes oversees irrigation and application teams to ensure the health and upkeep of landscapes. This role involves scheduling and managing maintenance tasks, supervising technicians, ensuring quality standards, and coordinating with project managers and field teams. The Field Manager is responsible for optimizing efficiency, resolving site issues, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations and safety standards. Responsibilities and Duties Supervise and lead the irrigation and application teams, providing guidance and support in daily tasks. Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance activities to ensure landscapes remain healthy and meet client expectations. Monitor and inspect work quality, ensuring irrigation and application procedures are executed correctly. Train and develop team members, ensuring adherence to best practices, safety regulations, and company standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to irrigation systems, turf health, and chemical applications. Maintain accurate records of work performed, including schedules, product usage, and equipment maintenance. Collaborate with project managers and field teams to coordinate maintenance efforts with broader project goals. Ensure compliance with local and federal environmental and safety regulations. Manage inventory of fertilizers, pesticides, and irrigation supplies, ensuring proper storage and usage. Assist in hiring, performance evaluations, and team development to support company growth and excellence. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; degree or certification in turf management, horticulture, or a related field is a plus. Minimum of three years of experience in landscape maintenance, irrigation, or chemical applications, with leadership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilizers, pesticides, and best practices for turf and plant care. Ability to read and interpret site plans, schedules, and technical documents. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills. Strong leadership and communication skills to train and manage teams effectively. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required. State pesticide applicator's license or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
