Job Overview The Licensed Irrigation Manager is responsible for the overall performance, management, installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and residential irrigation systems throughout San Antonio, Texas. This position ensures all irrigation work complies with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations, local water conservation requirements, and Cutrite's quality standards. The Licensed Irrigator serves as the company's designated license holder for irrigation permitting and oversees irrigation technicians and installation crews. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Irrigation Operations Perform comprehensive irrigation system inspections and audits. Diagnose and repair irrigation system failures, leaks, valve malfunctions, controller issues, and coverage deficiencies. Program and troubleshoot irrigation controllers, smart controllers, sensors, and communication systems. Install new irrigation systems and perform system upgrades. Conduct seasonal irrigation adjustments to maximize water efficiency. Ensure proper system coverage and water management practices. Compliance & Licensing Maintain all irrigation activities in accordance with TCEQ regulations and municipal requirements. Pull irrigation permits as required by local jurisdictions. Ensure compliance with water conservation ordinances. Maintain all records associated with irrigator licensing and permitting. Coordinate inspections with regulatory agencies and customers. Backflow & System Testing Coordinate backflow inspections and repairs. Verify proper operation of backflow prevention assemblies. Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions. Crew Leadership Supervise irrigation technicians and labor crews. Train employees in irrigation installation, repair procedures, safety standards, and water management practices. Monitor workmanship and productivity. Conduct daily safety meetings and jobsite inspections. Client Relations Meet with property managers, facility managers, and customers regarding system performance and repair recommendations. Prepare irrigation reports, repair estimates, and recommendations. Communicate project status and repair schedules. Safety & Equipment Operate company vehicles and equipment safely. Maintain irrigation tools, trenchers, pipe pullers, and specialized equipment. Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Complete vehicle and equipment inspections as required. Minimum Qualifications Current Texas Licensed Irrigator certification. Valid Texas Driver's License with acceptable driving record. Minimum 5 years of commercial irrigation experience. Thorough knowledge of irrigation systems, valves, controllers, pumps, and hydraulic principles. Ability to read irrigation plans, blueprints, and construction drawings. Knowledge of TCEQ regulations and municipal permitting requirements. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester Certification. Bilingual (English/Spanish). Commercial landscape construction experience. Experience with smart irrigation technologies and central control systems. Experience managing irrigation crews on commercial properties. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
