April 2023 Position Summary The Lawn Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for leading and organizing a maintenance team while ensuring quality service, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and client satisfaction. This role works closely with team members to maintain assigned properties according to Coldwater Landscapes standards while promoting teamwork, accountability, and professionalism. The Lawn Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for overseeing daily team operations, supporting employee development, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and communicating effectively with clients and management. This position plays a key role in maintaining productive operations and delivering high-quality landscape maintenance services.
Responsibilities:
This work may include, but is not limited to: Crew Leadership & Operations Leading and organizing assigned maintenance team members to ensure productivity, quality, and efficiency. Preparing teams, vehicles, and equipment for daily routes and job assignments. Coordinating daily schedules and communicating operational updates with management and other teams as needed. Delegating tasks and overseeing the safe and proper use of tools, equipment, and vehicles. Monitoring team performance and reporting employee concerns or operational issues to the Production Manager. Promoting teamwork, accountability, and professionalism within the crew environment. Lawn Maintenance & Property Care Performing lawn maintenance services includes mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, blowing, and debris removal. Maintaining turf, trees, shrubs, plants, and landscaped areas according to company standards. Identifying and removing weeds, invasive plants, and debris from client properties. Maintaining sidewalks, parking lots, planters, and other landscape features. Performing seasonal services, including mulching, leaf removal, and winter property treatments as needed. Conducting work in a manner that protects client property and the surrounding environment. Customer Service & Client Communication Communicating professionally with clients while on job sites. Identifying and reporting potential property concerns or additional service opportunities to management. Assisting in resolving client concerns professionally and efficiently. Escalating customer concerns to the Production Manager when necessary. Ensuring teams maintain professional appearance and service quality standards at all times. Equipment, Safety & Compliance Maintaining all equipment, trailers, tools, and supplies in a clean and safe condition. Performing basic vehicle inspections, including fuel, oil, tire pressure, and lights. Reporting vehicle or equipment maintenance issues promptly. Understanding and enforcing company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and operational standards. Ensuring team members follow all safety guidelines and company procedures. Participating in safety meetings, training programs, and operational development opportunities as assigned. 3 plus years Lawn Maintenance experience preferred with 1 year minimum experience as a Lawn Maintenance Team Leader. Ability to effectively communicate with clients and team members. Maintain a high level of quality why still staying at or below the recommended hours available for the job task. Ability to operate all equipment required for lawn maintenance.
