Our client is seeking a dependable and hardworking Recreation Maintenance I team member to support the maintenance, cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of recreational amenities and facilities. This Recreation Maintenance I position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on outdoor work, takes pride in maintaining safe and welcoming spaces, and can work effectively in a variety of weather conditions.
The Recreation Maintenance I will perform general maintenance and labor duties involving landscaping, carpentry, plumbing, painting, lake maintenance, and upkeep of recreational facilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating landscape power equipment and tractor lawnmowers and will demonstrate a positive, courteous attitude when interacting with property owners, guests, and other members of the public.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general, entry-level construction and maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, painting, landscaping, and lake maintenance.
Operate and maintain landscape power equipment and tractor lawnmowers.
Perform minor mechanical adjustments and basic maintenance on landscape equipment.
Maintain recreational amenities, facilities, and surrounding areas in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
Regularly inspect facilities and report maintenance concerns, safety issues, or needed materials to the supervisor.
Help ensure the safety of patrons, staff, property owners, and guests by following accident-prevention procedures and enforcing applicable facility rules.
Follow all Recreation Department and Property Owners Association (POA) rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Maintain a thorough understanding of amenity operations, regulations, and proper facility use.
Provide outstanding customer service and make every reasonable effort to accommodate customer needs.
Represent the Recreation Department and POA in a positive, friendly, and professional manner.
Use appropriate safety equipment and techniques while performing all assigned duties.
Work outdoors and perform duties in a variety of weather conditions.
Operate a POA or personal vehicle when required for POA business.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Be available to work weekends and holidays when necessary.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED preferred, or related experience.
Previous maintenance, landscaping, construction, or outdoor work experience is a plus.
Ability to operate lawnmowers and basic landscaping equipment.
Valid Arkansas driver's license with a clean driving record.
Proof of liability insurance.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Dependable, safety-minded, and able to follow instructions.
