REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES 10
years of education but additional credit for experience and/or special education background in grounds maintenance and a California valid driver's license.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responds to assigned work orders.
  • Cares for various ground cover including fields, lawns and pavement.
  • Mows, weeds, trims, edges, irrigates, seeds, waters and disperses chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides and fertilizer
  • Repairs paved surfaces
  • Care for various trees, shrubs and bushes and immediate surrounding areas.
  • Assists in the preparation of athletic fields and the installation, removal and repair of playground and athletic equipment.
  • Assists in the repair of irrigation systems.
  • Polices lawns, pavements and various other outside areas.
  • Sweeps, vacuums, rakes, shovels and otherwise picks up in connection with assigned work.
  • Operates various related equipment and tools in the performance of related work.
  • Provides manual labor assistance as required in the District.
  • Assures proper levels of safety are maintained in the use of chemicals and equipment and in the performance of work.
ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION
Equipment:
Mowers, tractors, forklift, rakes, seeders, backhoe, back pack sprayer, hoes and other tools used in ground maintenance and repair
Special Materials:
Fertilizers, weeders, PVC piping and fixtures, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals
Surroundings:
Work under typical job surroundings with some attention required to student discipline. Stands or walks
