Substitute Groundskeeper Pool (2026-2027 School Year) at Oroville Union High Print Application Deadline 7/31/2026 4:00 PM Pacific Date Posted 6/23/2026 Contact Brenda Gutierrez 5305382300 1117 Number of Openings 5 Salary Single Rate $22.64 Per Hour Length of Work Year 2026/2027 Employment Type Temporary Start Date Upon successful completion district paid clearances and board approval Job Summary Job Summary The Substitute Groundskeeper performs a variety of semi-skilled grounds maintenance duties on an as-needed basis to support district schools, facilities, and athletic fields. Under general supervision, the Substitute Groundskeeper assists in maintaining clean, safe, and attractive outdoor environments by mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, planting, pruning, and caring for lawns, trees, shrubs, and landscaped areas. Duties may include operating grounds maintenance equipment and tools, assisting with irrigation and sprinkler system repairs, preparing athletic fields and outdoor facilities for school and community events, and performing general grounds cleanup. The Substitute Groundskeeper may also assist maintenance staff with minor repairs and special projects as assigned. Assignments may vary by site and schedule based on district needs. This position requires the ability to work independently, follow directions, and safely perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions. View Job Description Requirements / Qualifications Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school and two years of experience as a Groundskeeper in the Oroville Union High School District with progressively responsible experience, supplemented preferably by specialized training or ability in gardening, landscaping, arbor culture, grounds or playfield design, mechanical equipment maintenance or repair; OR three years of experience and demonstrated knowledge of school-related groundskeeper duties. California Driver's License (required by the first day of service.); First Aid Certificate is preferred; Applicator's License preferred. Must be able to pass DOJ background check and Drug Screen .
