One Cool Earth is San Luis Obispo County's leading garden-based education nonprofit, partnered with 33 public schools across SLO County. We believe everyone deserves a place to grow, and our Garden Educators are at the heart of making that happen.

Hours:
Part-time to full-time (12-40 hours/week, 2-5 days/week)

$20
22/hour DOE About the role: Garden Educators lead hands-on lessons in ecology, earth science, nutrition, and zero waste. You'll maintain thriving school gardens, collaborate with teachers, and create joyful outdoor learning environments for students of all backgrounds. Our curriculum centers on three core themes: Food Forests, Zero Waste, and Water Wise. What you'll do:
Lead engaging garden-based lessons (30-45 min.) for groups of up to 30 students
Coordinate with teachers, volunteers, and school communities
Share monthly garden updates and keep accurate garden records
Attend weekly Monday team meetings (paid, 2 hours) What we're looking for:
Experience working with children in educational settings
Comfort in a garden environment (or strong motivation to learn)
Strong communication skills and a self-directed work style
Positive, flexible attitude and a collaborative spirit
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
