JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Maintenance/Property Manager, the Landscaping Lead will serve as the point person in coordinating activities of employees engaged in the needs of landscaping or groundskeeping - working side-by-side with staff to address irrigation needs, maintain trees, shrubs, plants and lawns utilizing hand, power tools or equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Assist with training staff.
  • Instructing Landscaping team/delegating tasks
  • Monitor projects to ensure that instructions are followed, deadlines are met, and schedules are maintained- report concerns to Maintenance Manager
  • Ensure staff are performing their jobs safely, according to company policy and any applicable laws or regulations
  • Care of established lawns by mowing, weeding, trimming and edging
  • Follow provided landscape design and instructions in planting new and maintain existing plants and flowers
  • Trim existing shrubs
  • Prune and trim trees and hedges
  • Plant flowers, seeds and foliage per instructions
  • Installation, repair and maintenance of the irrigation system, including winterizing the system and spring startup and ensuring that sprinklers are properly set and are in working order
  • Gather and remove litter
  • Clean and maintain gardening equipment
  • Clean and maintain hard grounds
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist maintenance when requested
  • Other duties as assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Experience leading a crew required Able to lift up to 50 lbs safely Able to push and pull up to 100 lbs Able to carry 25 lbs upstairs Must be honest and of good character Able to work on a ladder for extended periods Ability to communicate, read and write in the English Language Ability to follow English instructions Spanish speaking skills desired Knowledge of plants/flowers Knowledge of operation and maintenance of garden power tools and equipment Ability to determine the proper tools for a particular job Good hand and arm dexterity Good hand eye coordination Must be able to stand, stoop, bend and twist for prolonged periods Must be able to work outdoors for prolonged periods
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour
