Send résumé to Job Summary Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Team Assistant performs a wide range of grounds and facilities maintenance tasks to keep the school environment clean, orderly, and safe. Work must be performed in accordance with OSHA standards. Requirements Primary Job Duties Perform groundskeeping, including sweeping and blowing leaves and clippings Clean offices and site areas; empty trash; clean windows Assist with setup and breakdown of campus events, including tables, chairs, podiums, furniture, equipment, etc.) Maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features Operate powered equipment such as mowers, blowers, and similar tools Maintain lawns by mulching, weeding, trimming, and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges using hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruning saws, hedge/brush trimmers, axes, shears, pruners, chain saws) Rake and water trees, shrubs, plants, flowers, bulbs, and seeds Meet schedules and deadlines Maintain cooperative working relationships with faculty and staff Perform other duties as assigned Basic Qualifications Ability to communicate via phone, email, and text Ability to stand, walk, twist, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, and use hands frequently Ability to reach with hands and arms Ability to push, pull, grip, and handle tools and equipment Ability to climb and work on ladders Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day, including uphill and uneven terrain, sometimes while carrying equipment Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. with equipment Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Requirements After Hiring Valid California driver's license and auto insurance Recent DMV Driver Record Report Virtus Training Certification and LiveScan fingerprinting TB Risk Assessment, per California requirements Equal Opportunity Statement Alverno Heights Academy is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on any characteristic protected by law, including race, color, religion (including religious dress and grooming), sex (including gender identity/expression, pregnancy, breastfeeding), sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, citizenship, veteran status, ancestry, age, disability, medical condition, or genetic information.
