Predictable Seasonal Shifts:

April - November (Peak Season) : 20-30 hours per week. Requires being on-site Monday through Friday for daily animal care shifts. One day a week will feature a larger 4-6 hour block dedicated to lawn mowing and grounds upkeep. Remaining hours are flexible around property projects, errands, and the candidate's schedule. Weekend work (Saturday/Sunday) may be required on an occasional backup basis. December - March (Winter Season) : 10-15 hours per week. Focused on a steady, daily Monday-Friday routine for animal care and feeding, along with winter property maintenance/shoveling as weather dictates.

Pay Range:

$18.00 - $23.00 / hour (pay based on experience). Standard IRS mileage reimbursement for local errands. About the

Role:

We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated, and physically fit individual to join our team for long-term, year-round property maintenance, animal care, and handyman support in Deep River. This is not a temporary or school-break position; we are looking for a permanent, steady team member who wants a consistent, part-time routine through all four seasons. This role offers a diverse mix of daily livestock care, groundskeeping, and hands-on projects across our farm and personal residence. While our property features a bustling, separate farm store and coffee shop, this position is focused entirely on the maintenance and infrastructure side of the property. You won't be working counter shifts, but you will interact regularly with the retail and café staff to provide vital maintenance and logistical support.

Key Responsibilities:

Year-Round Animal Care & Barn Upkeep:

Daily feeding and care support for our community of resident livestock (goats, llamas, poultry), managing water systems, routine stall cleaning, and keeping the barns secure and organized (M-F requirement). Estate & Property Maintenance (April-Nov) : Mowing lawns (utilizing riding/zero-turn mowers), weed whacking, planting/landscaping, and keeping fence lines clear across the farm and personal residence.

Handyman Projects & Retail Support :

Power washing buildings and walkways, painting/staining fences, handling small carpentry jobs, fixing simple things that break, and assisting with facility support for the farm store/café areas. Winter Maintenance (Dec-March) : Shoveling snow to keep critical barn pathways, gates, and residential walkways safely cleared and accessible.

Errands & Supply Runs :

Using your personal vehicle to run local errands (picking up feed, tools, lumber, or supplies).

What We Are Looking For:

A True Animal Lover:

This role requires being directly around many animals daily. A calm, respectful, and compassionate attitude toward livestock is a non-negotiable requirement.

Permanent Year-Round Availability:

Must be fully available for the shifting hour structure year-round.
