This role assists with daily care, conditioning, and presentation of the golf course to ensure exceptional playing conditions for our Members and guests. This is a hands-on position that works outdoors in all aspects of golf course maintenance. Groundskeepers play a critical role in maintaining the high standards and pristine conditions that define Burning Tree Country Club. You:
Take pride in maintaining high standards and attention to detail Enjoy hands-on, physical work Work well both independently and as part of a team Are eager to learn and develop new skills Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic Are comfortable working early mornings and in varying weather conditions As a Groundskeeper, you contribute directly to the quality and playability of the golf course. The Essentials (Core Responsibilities) Assist with daily golf course setup, including tee markers, hole locations, and course accessories Perform routine maintenance tasks, including mowing, trimming, raking bunkers, and debris removal Maintain greens, fairways, roughs, and surrounding landscape areas Assist with irrigation monitoring and basic adjustments Support agronomic practices such as aerification, topdressing, seeding, and fertilization Operate and maintain golf course equipment safely and efficiently Maintain the cleanliness and organization of maintenance facilities and equipment Assist with special projects and course improvements as assigned The Expectations Arrive on time and ready to work early morning shifts Demonstrate strong attention to detail in all assigned tasks Follow all safety procedures and equipment operation guidelines Work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Maintain a professional attitude and positive work ethic Adapt to changing priorities based on course needs and weather conditions Take direction from supervisors and communicate effectively with team members Contribute to maintaining the high standards of course conditions expected at BTCC The Standards Education & Experience Previous golf course, landscaping, or outdoor labor experience preferred but not required Interest in turf management or outdoor work environments is a plus Skills & Competencies Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently Strong work ethic and reliability Basic mechanical awareness (equipment operation experience preferred) Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, lifting, and walking
