Job Description
Summary:
Responsible for the following aspects of the Lawn and Tennis Department, which include but are not limited to sweeping, watering, and brushing the lines of the tennis courts, repairing irrigation systems, replacing clay court materials, replacing wickets on the croquet lawns, blowing off the pickleball courts, maintaining windscreens, controlling weeds, power washing, managing trash and towels, and overall general upkeep.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In addition to the following duties and responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Responsible for the following aspects of the Lawn & Tennis Department, which includes but is not limited to:Technical:
Maintaining 9 Clay Tennis courts (e.g. sweeping, watering, and brushing the lines of the tennis courts in the mornings, afternoons and whenever else is needed) Maintaining 9 Pickleball courts (e.g. removing leaves, powerwashing courts and removing trash) Maintaining 2 Croquet Lawns (e.g. removing and replacing wickets, removing leaves, painting court) Repairing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure proper water supply Replacing clay court materials as needed Ensure wind screens are in good condition (e.g. properly hung and zip tied) Tidying outdoor furniture Emptying trash cans Stocking towels and cups Washing and folding towels Leaf blowing off areas around the courts Control weeds and maintain a weed-free environment Perform general upkeep tasks to ensure the courts are in optimal condition Collaborate with team members to coordinate maintenance schedulesGeneral:
Maintaining a positive relationship with Members/Guests, always being courteous, friendly, happy, outgoing, and professional. Work closely with the Director of Racquet Sports, Head Professional and other members of the staff, maintaining a positive rapport with coworkers as well as management. Actively solicit feedback from the members and guests frequenting the tennis center, and report to the Director of Racquet Sports. Promoting Pro Shop sales, along with game matching, guest registration, and court reservations, which includes answering the phone in a polite and professional manner. Taking ownership and conduct regular inspections of the court facilities, seeing that all areas are properly maintained by staff. Observing all situations for safety Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of all emergency procedures. Active demonstration and implementation of the ORC Promises; Demonstrate the ORC way in all aspects of this positions i.e. hygiene, uniforms, etc.- Be able to make appropriate decisions when the Director of Racquet Sports is not available.
Qualifications:

Previous experience in tennis court maintenance is preferred Knowledge of Har-Tru or clay tennis courts is highly desirable Ability to work in various weather conditions Strong attention to detail Physical ability to perform the necessary tasks Outgoing, enthusiastic team-oriented mentality a must Education and/orExperience:
High school diploma required.Language:
Must be able to comprehend the English language in order to communicate with Members, Guests, Associates and fully understand job assignments.Physical Demands:
