Lion Country Safari is seeking a motivated, dependable, and hardworking Full Time Landscaper to help maintain the beauty, safety, and functionality of our world-class wildlife park. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy working outdoors, and thrive in a team-oriented environment. Landscapers play an important role in maintaining the appearance of park grounds, guest areas, roadways, and operational spaces through landscaping, groundskeeping, debris removal, planting, mowing, trimming, and general outdoor maintenance. This position contributes directly to creating exceptional guest experiences while supporting animal care, conservation efforts, and park operations.
Requirements:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain park grounds through mowing, trimming, edging, weed removal, pressure cleaning, and general landscape upkeep Plant, water, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscape materials Remove trash, debris, fallen vegetation, and other materials from guest and operational areas Empty and transport trash receptacles throughout the property Operate landscape and groundskeeping equipment including mowers, trimmers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, chainsaws, pole saws, pressure washers, and chemical sprayers as trained Assist with grounds repairs, drain clearing, loading and unloading materials, and other maintenance tasks Work safely around guests, vehicles, animal habitats, tools, chemicals, and equipment Monitor park areas for safety concerns and report issues to leadership Maintain a professional, positive, and guest-focused attitude Follow all Lion Country Safari safety procedures, policies, and operational standards Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work priorities and park conditions Other duties as assigned by management or department leadership
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Valid Florida driver's license Ability to safely operate or learn to operate landscaping and groundskeeping equipment Ability to communicate effectively in English Ability to work independently and as part of a team Dependable attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct Preferred Qualifications Previous landscaping, groundskeeping, custodial, maintenance, or outdoor labor experience Experience operating landscaping equipment and pressure washing equipment Experience working in outdoor guest-facing environments Experience working around animals, zoological facilities, parks, resorts, or similar environments Knowledge of basic landscape maintenance and safe equipment handling practices
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday Lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, materials, and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds or more with or without assistance Perform repetitive physical tasks including lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, digging, trimming, loading, unloading, and debris removal Work outdoors for prolonged periods in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rain Safely operate vehicles, landscaping equipment, power tools, and pressurized equipment Respond quickly to operational and safety concerns throughout the park
WORK SCHEDULE
Must be available to work weekends and holidays Early morning, evening, and occasional irregular schedules may be required based on operational needs Reliable transportation required
