Job Description
Ponte Vedra Inn & Club is one of the premier places to work in Northeast Florida. We are currently seeking an experienced Golf Course Grounds Crew Leader to join our team. The Golf Course Grounds Crew Leader coordinates daily assignments, equipment, and crew members to ensure the golf course and surrounding grounds are maintained safely, efficiently, and according to the Club's high standards. This position works alongside and supervises assigned crews while helping provide exceptional course conditions for our members and guests. Responsibilities Review daily assignments and coordinate the crews and equipment needed to complete each job. Supervise and work alongside crews of two to five colleagues. Assist with mowing, trimming, course setup, ditch digging, and other golf course maintenance duties. Ensure colleagues operate equipment correctly and follow all safety procedures. Inspect completed work to ensure it meets established quality and presentation standards. Assist with training colleagues on equipment operation, safety requirements, and maintenance procedures. Report safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, and maintenance needs to management. Assist with setting up tees, greens, bunkers, cups, flags, and other course features. Communicate daily progress, staffing concerns, equipment issues, and incomplete assignments to management. Attend all required meetings, training sessions, and safety courses. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Horticulture, First Assistant Superintendent, or other members of management. Qualifications Five years of golf course maintenance experience as an equipment operator or grounds laborer is preferred. Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience is required. Working knowledge of golf course mowing practices, course setup, and grounds maintenance. Ability to safely operate golf course mowing and maintenance equipment. Valid state driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, holidays, and split shifts, as needed. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform physically demanding work. Ability to operate mowing equipment and drive a motor vehicle.
