Position Summary:

The Crew Leader is responsible for leading and working alongside a landscaping crew to complete lawn care and landscape maintenance services safely, efficiently, and to company standards. This position oversees daily job site operations, ensures quality workmanship, maintains productivity, and promotes a positive team environment. The Crew Leader is expected to lead by example through strong communication, accountability, professionalism, and attention to detail. Responsibilities include directing crew members, operating and maintaining equipment, ensuring safety procedures are followed, and providing excellent customer service while representing the company on every property. Core Responsibilities The essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Report to the administrative team each morning to review the day's work.
• Appropriately allocate all tools, fuel, equipment, and materials each morning.
• Load and unload equipment each morning and evening.
• Conduct daily checks and maintenance on trucks and equipment, including oil, fluids, tire pressure, trailer connections, lights, brakes, and blades.
• Uphold the standards and expectations of the company.
• Train field staff for efficient performance and maintain performance reports.
• Enforce a drug-free workplace at all times.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of lawn care, maintenance, and plant identification.
• Adhere to all company procedures and policies consistently.
• Operate routing software via the field iPad.
• Observe existing job notes and add new notes as necessary.
• Implement and train the proper use of safety equipment and ergonomic practices for the field crew.
• Act as a liaison between clients, administrative staff, and vendors as needed.
• Track field labor and budgeted hours for each project.
• Review daily and weekly scheduled work and prepare accordingly.
• Enhance safety and training procedures.
• Communicate with the Account Manager and Office Manager as necessary.
• Perform daily mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing of routed properties.
• Conduct seasonal pruning, trimming, and maintenance of landscape beds as needed.
• Carry out seasonal property clean-ups and home services, including gutter cleaning and pressure washing.
• Utilize hand tools, mowing equipment, and heavy equipment as needed.
• Perform other activities as temporarily or permanently assigned.
• Any additional assigned tasks Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, physical, and vision exam
• Reliable transportation to and from work every day
• Legal eligibility to work in the United States
• 1+ year of lawn care leadership experience
• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
• Possess a valid checking or savings account upon employment acceptance
• Proficiency in operating an iPad and field software
• Ability to read maps, designs, and instructions
• Professional and respectful interaction with clients, employees, and external organizations

Physical Demands and Work Environment Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more
• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motions
• Ability to operate landscaping tools and machinery for extended durations
• Ability to work in various positions, including crouching and reaching overhead
• Capability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

Work Environment:

• Work is performed primarily outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and cold temperatures
• Exposure to dust, dirt, pollen, grass clippings, and loud equipment noise
• May require early morning start times and occasional overtime, weekends, or seasonal extended hours
• Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, ear protection, and steel-toe boots
• Work may be performed on uneven terrain, slopes, and varying landscape conditions
• Frequent travel between job sites throughout the workday

Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
