Job Summary Serve as a lead capacity in performing general and specialized landscape and grounds maintenance activities to include plantings, chemical applications and equipment maintenance. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: supervisor and coworkers. This position typically will advise and counsel: grounds keeping personnel.

This position will supervise:

NA. Responsibilities Job Duty 1

• Lead in and perform maintenance of trees, shrubs, groundcovers and flower beds. Job Duty 2
• Transport equipment and personnel via motor vehicle to and from job sites. Job Duty 3
• Provide instructions to landscaping crews as required. Job Duty 4
• Lead in and perform lawn maintenance activities. Job Duty 5
• Keeps landscape and grounds free of debris, trash, branches and leaves, remove ice, empty trash receptacles, clean storm drains and ash urns. Job Duty 6
• Apply chemicals to maintain the Institute's lawn, trees, shrubs, groundcover, and flowers. Job Duty 7
• Perform routine maintenance of equipment. Job Duty 8
• Complete daily grounds maintenance reports. Job Duty 9
• Train new employees in grounds keeping duties; promote safe working practices. Job Duty 10
• Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Educational Requirements High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma Required Experience Three to four years of job related experience Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities SKILLS This job requires working knowledge of grounds maintenance processes and practices including operation and maintenance of related equipment, use of radio communications equipment and operation of a motor vehicle.

Skills in providing work direction, work-related training and leadership are required. Valid Georgia Driver's License.
